This article is a very high level D365 FinOps LCS Training introduction on how you can begin leveraging Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS) to solve real world business problems managing the complete lifecycle of your Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 FO, D365 Finops) environments.

As a Dynamics 365 finops lcs training seeker, we recommend you take our Dynamics Edge Course MB-300. Do you have a Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations subscription or have you used D365 Finops before already but are unsure or unfamiliar with the new Dynamics 365 lifecycle Services platform that Microsoft has you use to manage the D365 Finops or formerly Dynamics AX training and development instances as well as production instances?

Well one thing is, Dynamics AX Lifecycle Services Training or D365 AX LCS Training, would be basically equivalent to modern Dynamics 365 LCS training courses, because Dynamics AX is now Dynamics 365 from quite some time now, that is one of the first things you should make a note of. There have also been quite some changes in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, although for those of you unsure what Finops is, Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations’ closest predecessor was known as Dynamics AX, which once stood for Dynamics Axapta training.

Dynamics 365 LCS Partner Projects
Upon completion of the registration with regards to the most recent version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations as a partner, you usually get the power to create two certain types of new projects related to LCS:

Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Implementation Workspace

Utilizing LCS each time, you might find that a Dynamics 365 Implementation project training workspace, for Dynamics 365 implementation training, should usually be automatically created. This is done at times such as at first during the LCS sign-up process, and it also under some circumstances may be possible, in very specific scenarios to do it on-demand.

As a partner though in many cases you might not be able to actually create an Implementation project upon demand or request. For more information about the Implementation project workspace, contact Dynamics Edge.

Services within project workspaces that are the same, in most cases tend to behave in similar ways. There is one key differentiation factor in terms of Implementation projects as opposed to the different project types. This particular key difference turns out to be the power to make a series of configuration changes in specific ways in the most recent version of Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, which is usually considered to be managed by Microsoft currently.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Lean Manufacturing Kanban Job Scheduling Training Guide

This free brief Microsoft Dynamics 365 Lean Manufacturing Kanban Job Scheduling Training Guide provides information about visually controlling kanban job scheduling and how to schedule kanban jobs in Microsoft Dynamics 365.

For more details:

Click this link right now in order to check out all the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Training Courses offered by Dynamics Edge, the official Microsoft Partner you can trust.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance And Operations Kanban job scheduling page is a central hub for providing visual control over the schedules of lean manufacturing work cells in your line. This gives an overview of all kanban jobs and then provides multiple filtering capabilities form the page. You are also able to simply move to all other pages that are related to kanban execution and configuration.
Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Training – Automatic scheduling of kanban jobs (source)
The result is a series of first serve upon first pull. Setting the Automatic planning quantity to a value that is greater than 1 means that kanban jobs are grouped before they are planned. This concept enables kanban sizes to be reduced below the actual economic batch sizes. Scheduling can be triggered automatically if you set the Automatic planning quantity parameter on the kanban rule. In the case that you set Automatic planning quantity to exactly 1, then each of the kanban jobs is planned immediately right when it’s created in the job queue. We can give a real world example where the economic batch size for a specific item or item family is 50 or fifty. Instead of creating kanbans that use the product quantity, 50 or fifty, you can configure the kanban rule so that it has a product quantity of 20 or twenty and also an Automatic planning quantity value of 6 or something like this. Even though the automatic planning schedules the actual kanban jobs for work cell, only in the case that six unplanned jobs exist in this specific example, it should be fully transparent to the shop floor supervisor and planner that some unplanned jobs might be awaiting execution. The shop floor manager or planner can then take those queued jobs into production by creating additional kanbans or manually planning them.

Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Lean Manufacturing Training Manual scheduling of Kanban Jobs:
In order to proceed with manual scheduling, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 introduced the kanban scheduling board in Dynamics 365. This way, manual scheduling can be utilized in combination with automatic scheduling in Dynamics 365 for Lean Manufacturing. In this case. the kanban scheduling board lets you unplan and plan jobs, start moving them to become in sequence, or even to move them from period to period in Dynamics 365. The jobs that happen to be based on a kanban rule where the Automatic planning value is greater than 0 can be manually unplanned from the module. Although if you do this, these particular jobs will end up being replanned in the case that the next automatic planning event occurs (that is, when a new kanban is created in the module).
Here are the options are available for manual scheduling in D365 Finance and Operations Lean Manufacturing Kanban Module:
Schedule is the one that schedules the selected jobs according to their due date. (This option resembles automatic planning.)
Schedule forward from date is the one that tries to schedule the selected jobs according to their due date but constrains the result by using the specified earliest start date.
Backward is the one that moves the selected scheduled jobs back in the sequence within the period.
Forward is the one that moves the selected scheduled jobs forward in the sequence with the period.
Previous period is the one that moves the selected scheduled jobs to the start or end of the previous period.
Next period is the one that moves the selected scheduled jobs to the start or end of the next period.
Plan > Revert job status is the one that lets you unschedule a scheduled job.
Info about Lean scheduling groups
So here, Each of the colors represents a lean scheduling group in D365. You should know that lean scheduling groups can be freely defined as groups that belong to a single work cell or just as generic groups. In work that is driven by specific tooling requirements, items might be grouped by tool requirement, and a packaging work cell might group items by packaging template. Items and dimensions can be freely assigned to the scheduling groups. For example, in a Painting cell, a schedule group can represent a color of the product. For example, it’s very easy to see which colors are produced on which day, and you can tell at a glance how this work can be optimized.
Work cell capacity and period capacity. Here, the use of colors for lean scheduling groups is optional but recommended and also improves visibility into the status of the plan. Multiple jobs can be active in a work cell at the same time. The capacity can be tracked in two modes: throughput and hours. Therefore, The capacity of a lean work cell is always concurrent capacity. The actual capacity per day or week is then calculated based on the working times of the calendar that is assigned to the work cell. The capacity that is loaded by job is the quantity of the job, adjusted by the throughput ratio of the item in the work cell. The capacity of a work cell is defined by the average throughput quantity of a reference period (standard workday, week, or month).

Info about Hours
The capacity that is loaded by job is the cycle time of the activity, adjusted by the quantity (default activity quantity versus actual job quantity) and the throughput ratio of the item in the work cell. The available capacity by day or week is defined by the calendar that is assigned to the work cell.
Period capacity FactBox
Depending on the selected schedule periods in the production flow model, the periods show days or weeks, because the Kanban job scheduling list page does indeed contain a FactBox that shows the available and booked period capacity for the selected work cell.
